    Thanks! I talked to the previous owner who was very kind about filling me in on lots of things. He was single and in his 60s. He explained to me that he pretty much just lived in the bedroom when it was cold...so no real way to tell what usage for our family would be.

    Do you have anything like an energy assessment/audit in your area? We have it done through our electric/gas company (the program is called MassSave). They come out and make recommendations on how to make your house more energy efficient. Then if you want to implement them, you get some type of discount like interest free loans, etc.. Might be worth looking into to maybe get a break on putting in the ducts.
