I would try land of nod for similar look but much of it is made in the USA and better quality. And also have loved Hemnes dresser and it held up better than expensive USA made boutique purchased furniture (DL Mayra)

I am kind of going in the other direction... I am going to go Ikea given that the kids are young and will grow out of their beds and scratch/rip/break things. It IS cheap, but good enough and I like the feeling that I don't have to be super careful around it (it feels more 'disposable' which makes me feel more peaceful).
But... I LOVE the look of PBK. We were in the store and my DD1 was pining after the bed and I felt guilty...
I am also big on buying used/vintage furniture lately. Most of our recent purchases have been from Craiglist, antique stores or this awesome local resale shop that has the most amazing prices on beautiful pieces. I feel like I get much better quality pieces for less money, and help to reuse an item, rather than buy something new.
If you want a very specific item, you can set up searches on Craigslist and it will email you when new matches appear.

I will warn that what PBK made seven years ago may easily not still be the same quality today. For example: I bought new socks (that I wear just for work) from Costco and have already rubbed through the bottom on at least half. The same socks that I bought two years ago are/have been holding up better. It's truly depressing how crappily some things are made today (when you don't have the budget for luxury) Hence the reuse!!
