My mom has owned her home for 44 years and the house ( original part) is well over a hundred years old they have had work done on the septic system once since they owned it. She buys what ever is on sale and always has. ( not generic but anything else goes) She raised 4 of us and we flushed tampons and all oddly it wasnt until I found BBB that I knew you werent supposed to flush them. Who knew.

Toilet Paper and septic systems- recommend a brand
We use Quilted Northern or angel soft, whichever is on sale. Also, we never flush anything else. Especially No wipes or tampons. I confess, i sometimes flush food like old yogurt or uneaten mushy cereal

We use Wegman's double ply and I flush tampons and the kids flush toddler wipes after poop. Lived in the house 10yr and no issues.
Mom to two amazing DDs ('07 & '09) and a fur baby.
Gluten free since Nov '11 after non-celiac gluten sensitive diagnosis. Have had great improvement or total elimination of: migraines, bloating/distention, heartburn, cystic acne, canker sores, bleeding gums, eczema on elbows, dry skin and scalp, muscle cramps, PMS, hair loss, heart palpitations, fatigue. I'm amazed.
