Gonna order a Costco cake; wondering if I should get a white or chocolate one.
It seems like people might like chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream better (at least my kids probably would), but maybe I should just do white cake with chocolate ice cream, or white with white? Chocolate with chocolate seems a bit too sweet?

I agree not to do chocolate and chocolate. I haven't had their chocolate cake, but I think the white is safer. That's what my boys are used to so they'd prefer it at a party. Either icecream would be fine though.

I asked DD. Is she could pick any combo, she'd pick vanilla cake with chocolate frosting and vanilla ice cream. Given the constraints given, she votes vanilla/vanilla.

Chocolate fans here most of the time. I do what the birthday boy or girl wants and vanilla ice cream. We've also done marble cake but use a local bakery.

My DD gets so bummed out when there's chocolate cake at a bday party. If you do go for chocolate cake, then get vanilla ice cream so there's something for the non-chocolate eaters.

Does she get to pick for her party? There just isn't really something for everyone. Chocolate lovers pass on white cake too. Our Costco doesn't do yellow cake as another poster suggested, but we've had a delicious almost pound cake before that everyone loved. Originally Posted by Tenasparkl
