We did that for DS1 when he was 2, and worked like a charm! We dressed him in the zippered cotton jammies and put that sleep sack on him. No blankets till he transitioned to his full size bed last Xmas, then gave him a blanket.

Halo big kid sleep sack! We've been frustrated by the 5yo uncovering himself, then sleeping in a cold ball on his bed. We busted out the sleep sacks we thought we were done with, and he is resting comfortably again!

We used the larger sleepsacks until DC's were almost 4, the sizing is generous and it always kept them warm.

I totally forgot I bought one of those toddler walkable sleepsacks. Now I have to figure out where I put it. Do you put jammies underneath? Do you still put a blanket in the crib/bed too?

Yes, definitely jammies underneath. And a blanket too, depending on how cold your house is. My DS was still in a crib at that age. We had the 2T-3T size sleep sack and it was huge. The one I linked from Kohl's also comes in a 4/5.

It looks like the PBK toddler comforter dimensions are much smaller than a regular sized throw (36x50" vs. 50x70" usually, though it varies). you might try a regular-sized throw before you give up.

DC refused the sleepsack. Grrrr it would have been perfect. Sigh.

bribe for a few days, then make it the norm. That's what we did, and *I* sleep so much better knowing I don't need to get up and cover him because I'm freezing (and he must be too since he was uncovered w/o it.)

DS2 has Asperger's and absolutely will not use a sleep sack anymore and it's not worth a battle that will increase his already elevated anxiety. On cold nights we put him in cotton pajamas like Gymmies or HA LJs and then put a pair of Carters fleece 2 piece pajamas over them. He's been sleeping through the night that way for a couple of weeks but I forgot to tell the sitter to double up last night and he woke up cold at midnight.
