Default PSA for anyone who visited Disneyland in December, 9 cases of measles traced to DL

Just an FYI, I know some people were planning December visits. Cases are in CA and UT. I don't know incubation period.

Not surprised--lots of people from all over go there. 10:1 the people from Utah were not vaxed.

Not surprised. We have a 50% puke rate when it comes to Disney trips. So many germs from so many people from so many states and counties. We always meet friends at Disney and the wife is an infectious disease specialist and she always jokes about how she wants to do a study of GI viruses from around the world at Disney.

The article I read said they are siblings and were not vaxed. They gave a detailed accounting of all the places they visited when they came home from Disneyland, all in Utah county. They've asked 25 people to quarantine themselves after contact with the siblings and are begging more people to come forward and do the same.

I was at Disneyland multiple times and thank goodness we're ok. My daughter actually got sick 5 days after a trip to Disneyland during the period it said in the article but thankfully it wasn't the measles and she got better pretty fast

We're all vaxed anyways but still there's a small chance that we still could have gotten it.

DH said one of the cases is actually in Oakland. Not all are from Utah. Of the 9 cases last night, only 1 was vaxed and two were too young to be vaxed.

Over 50 cases now linked to Disneyland. It's so sad.

Measles is contagious before symptoms start, so there is no way to know if patient zero was symptomatic at the park unless they are able to track him or her down.

People who choose not to vaccinate know the risks I keep hearing most of the 51 cases were unvaccinated these folks knew the risks. There haven't been any reports of any severe reactions other than the standard symptoms ( well none that I have read) and no infants under the vaccination age seem to have been affected.
