    Default New dishwasher takes forever!

We just had to replace our dishwasher. Not happy to loose our old workhorse, and the new one is so much more complicated! The big problem, though, is that it takes forever! It's taking two and a half hours to run. Is this normal with new dishwashers? Our old one to 60-70 minutes for a "normal" setting, the new kitchenaid more than twice as long.

Yep, our new Bosch takes exactly 2.5 hours too. I was not prepared for that. It's actually cleaning dishes--unlike the one we replaced, so at least there's that.

My Bosch takes 112 minutes on normal. The next setting down does a fine job though. I'd experiment with the quicker settings.

Yeah, our Miele takes just over 2hrs - a good part of that time consists of the fans running to assist in drying.

My Bosch takes 2 hours, but the dishes are amazingly clean so I don't care!

Miele can take two hours but much of that is drying time since it doesn't use a heater. We've used turbo setting with no problems though and for us, 99% of the time run one or both at night before bed. Rarely run during the day.

Ours takes three hours... It took a LONG time to get use to, but it saves a ton on electricity and water

The HE cycle on my 2007 Kenmore takes 2+ hours (never actually timed it).

Our Miele has several different cycles. If I select the quick option it is about 45 minutes. Then there's the next cycle which is @ 1.5 hours. Then there's another cycle which is longer and it's over 2 hours. Typically I run the middle cycle (there's more than 3 cycles, but these are the ones I typically use).
