Default Recall: Peanut Allergy Families Might Want to Read

My family doesn't have any food allergies, but I saw this today and thought I'd pass it along. It involves a rather large food recall from major retailers where an ingredient isn't listed.

Might be worth checking into further.

Thank you. I have been watching this closely. I didn't know WF was involved.

Thanks for sharing! The FDA finally yesterday issued a recommendation that PA individuals avoid all foods containing cumin while they continue tracking down all the places the contaminated cumin has ended up. These recalls have been coming in for a few months now and it is frightening.

Isn't it crazy? I've been trying to avoid all cumin with DS because I didn't want him having a reaction (especially at school) and no one do anything because he didn't eat peanuts. My fear is they wouldn't even think there could be some type of contamination. Now I"m glad we've been doing that. If the FDA tells you to avoid something, you know it's bad! I think we could be dealing with this for quite awhile. Just in case anyone is curious, cumin products from McCormick are safe. They grind their own from seeds, so there is no chance of having peanut shells in them.

Let's just hope the contaminated Gluten recall from the bagels doesn't blow up this big.
