Both my brother and sister had this surgery when very young so maybe 45-50 years ago. I think if asked they would both say they were pleased she made that decision for them when young. My brother is almost completely bald now so it would have been very noticeable. If I had gotten my ears from Dad, I'm sure I would have had it as well. I had totally forgotten about that until I saw this thread.
