Yes good news. I last went to circus in the early 90s (I was 14) but then I started having conscious thoughts about the elephants and have had no desire to take my kids.

    I'm happy with the start.

Do they still have tigers? (Or is that not really a problem as much as the elephants?)

Thankfully we have avoided the circus so far but I would have had a hard time saying no if my kids had actually asked. I remember going to the circus as a kid - elephants and all- and loved it.

I am glad to hear that. Considering how long the elephant act is (very short) it's not worth what the animals have to go through. I am wondering about tigers though. They also shouldn't be circus animals.

Very good news! I have explained to DS why we will not see this type of circus even though his friends go. Glad Ringling Brothers is finally doing the right thing.

Good, I am glad to hear it. I hope they give their elephants a happy retirement.....

I was wondering about this, too. Elephants seems to get most of the attention, so maybe the tiger training is OK?

Really good thing to happen. I watched the movie Water for Elephants on netflix a few weeks ago and cringed during some scenes.

Great news IMO, I refused to go to see a circus since I learned about this in high school. My dd understands why.

It's great news, but they need to stop using any animals in their shows before I take my kids to see the show.
