Default how much do you pay for your elementary child's swim program?

Some friends of ours told us about a great swim program their daughter (also 8) loves and they would be willing to take DD1 for me as it starts at 4:15 (and I work until 4, 20 miles away with a 30-45 minute commute) and it looks promising, but it is $429 for 26 lessons over a 13 week period (2x a week) At first I thought it was kind of expensive, but it is really what DD1 needs as it is a swim program, but not a full on swim team, which she is not ready for (and honestly I am not sure we have time for) and it is for 1:45 minutes so the $16.50 lesson works out to being much cheaper than most of the other private programs available here, most are $26 per lesson for 20-30 minutes.

Eta: I pay $24 ($12 per kid) for a 30 minute small group lesson (up to 3 kids per lesson) in a backyard pool for my girls each summer, but DD1 is ready for more. I think I will be able to swallow the price more if I can pay on a monthly basis because that is how I budget for most things.

$18 for a swim lesson is not expensive but I live in a fairly high cost of living area. I pay $25 for a private half hour swim lesson.

We pay about $20 for a 30 minute lesson. We are not in a HCOL area. It's a program with low ratios and a heated pool, though.

DS1 and DS2 swim once a week during the school year and twice a week in the summer. We pay $50 for 30 min one on one private lessons. We are in HCOL just outside of NYC.

$13 per 25-minute lesson (4x a week). They are small group lessons with max 3 kids per class.

We pay $14 for a half hour group lesson. The group is usually 4-5 kids including my DD and often has both a teacher and assistant working with the kids.

ETA: lessons are 1x per week. I think the lessons that meet 2x a week are $12 each.

DD (9) is on swim team. This past winter season (approx 10/20-3/7), I paid $280. She swam 3 times a week for 45 min. Next year it will be $380, for 4-5 times a week for 1:15.

DS (5) takes lessons at the ymca. It's $32 for 5 lessons. 4 kids in a class.

We pay $25 for 1/2 hr private lesson (or $30 for semi-private, 2 kids for 1/2 hr) in a fairly low cost of living area.

My dd swims on a winter team, she can swim either twice or three times a week for an hour each time (they would like her to do 3x but we generally do 2x) and it is about $140 a month. We also have meet fees, fundraising and volunteer requirements, and fees through the US Swim League. It is worth it though, IMO, I love having a confident strong swimmer.

Approximately $4/ hr for swim team at a community center in a LCOL area. It is $100 for 3 mos, 2x/wk.
