I used bleach when I was at that age as well, but I was very fair skinned. If I had even a little bit of color in the summer, the bleach made the mustache stand out even more! Now I wax/shave/cuss at it.

Id probably start with waxing as well, I don't find it traumatizingly painful and it's a pretty small area.

As for legs I agree with the Intuition razor with the built in lotion, I remember getting that when it first came out and it's super easy and i remember finding it hard to get nicks and cuts.

I used an electric razor when I started. It wasn't long before I switched to a regular razor and shaving cream. As a PP mentioned, I also now prefer conditioner.

I agree that I would start with waxing the facial hair instead of shaving or bleaching. When I was her age, my mother trimmed my upper lip with scissors and then bleached. I HATED that bleach. And the mustache would grow thicker and my olive skin wold bleach out. It was very obvious. Around age 15, I decided that I would shave (didn't know about waxing). I shaved for 20 years and the mustache, chin, and throat hair came back INCREDIBLY dark and thick over the years. It was life-altering when I started waxing. Even better when I started laser. My laser treatments took a VERY long time but the results were wonderful...until I gained weight. The hair is coming back. I have started using the Emjoi Tweeze that was gifted to me years ago. I like it for the less sensitive areas but the mustache area is still very sensitive. Please just start with waxing. 10yo DD1 is starting to have a unibrow. She tweezes herself without a problem.

If you think she can tolerate it, for the mustache, I'd thread it. I learned how from YouTube videos after I went to a place that offered it a few times. It's the best thing I've done for my crazy PCOS facial hair.

Legs, I'd electric razor as long as possible!

Um, okay, so now I feel totally self-conscious about my facial hair... I wonder if I have a moustache too... dang it.

That's what a personal groomer is for.

ETA: I've got a blonde mustache, so the $10 personal groomer is quick and easy to take care of any hair!

I would do an electric razor for legs = no cuts. Electrolysis or waxing for the face.

I remember what a hard time I had shaving when I was that age. I nicked myself with the razor everytime. I'd walk out is the bathroom with a dozen bits of toilet paper stuck to my leg to stop the bleeding. Finally my mom got me a tiny electric razer which was pretty good but left a little stubble.

Im very intrigued by threading! It looks like a great way to do my eyebrows versus plucking (because I haven't found the time to make a wax appointment).

This is what DD uses. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done while she's still uncoordinated and often lacking attention
