I've only ever heard "The perfect is the enemy of the good" and I really like it. I think it is a very useful way to think about many things.

Neither of them especially resonate with me, but the first one would make me want to smack the person saying it. It's right up there with "everything happens for a reason".

I have only heard the first one as "good is the enemy of great". With that wording, I'm cool with it. "Perfect is the enemy of good" is also cool. "Good is the enemy of best" doesn't sit well with me.

I like "perfect is the enemy of good" -- I can definitely be a perfectionist, and coming to the realization that perfect is not always necessary or worth the stress, etc. has been a very good thing for my adult life. Not that I don't believe in very hard work and turning out something you're proud of, because I do! But I do value balance more now than I did when I was younger...and think I'm saner for it!
