    That's why I was asking.

It looks like it's a fairly easy (and cheap!) fix - re-check my installation, check that the straps aren't twisted, and re-install.

Default The Kid is Outgrowing Boulevard; What's Next?

Not the OP, but this is 45" and 44lb (fully clothed) Dd2 in the BLvd. I re installed it and it didn't make a difference. I think she has finally outgrown the seat. I think the reinstall actually caused more over the shoulder strap because it wasn't that noticeable yesterday, just really tight.

    OP what was your result?

Isn't it wild how seats with 'technically the same' measurement can fit so differently? I think the BV has always been outgrown slightly sooner than the MA, owing to the headrest pushing the harness down or something. At that age, my kid didn't fit in her MA in our recliny van seat, but did in the super-uprighty Escape.
That's a really common age and size to be out of that generation of Britaxes, I'd say it's great. The Maestro is a tiny bit higher and much more upright, so it can end up lasting longer, but the straps are close together and not all that comfy for kids that size...really a Frontier is nice and offers great side support for the inevitable booster age. Pioneer is also fine, just much trickier to learn to install well, since you'll need a seatbelt install in any case.

Jools, thank you so much for explaining that I'm not crazy - Annie's DD2 and my DD are about a month apart.

What she's showing in her DD's fit is exactly what I'm finding in mine - the actual harness slots are below DD's shoulders and I have things installed properly.

    Hey guys!

I re-installed the seat, checked for twisted straps and ... I really do think she's outgrown the Boulevard.

She just grew - 45" to 46" tall, depending on who/what's measuring, 45-46lbs, super-long legs, but her torso "stretched" in the last few months, too.

Now I have to decide what seat we're going to upgrade to. I really would prefer a harnessed seat because of our driving situation - relatively frequent 1+hr car rides to see family, she still falls asleep in the car, we live off a major highway, etc. - but would be OK with the right HBB, I guess.

Recaro boosters are on woot.com today for 85$... (9/4).... great side impact protection features, very comfy seat depth for bigger kids, just overall very nice, and usually 149. If she doesn't sit well in a booster, you can always get a Frontier...
Other good booster choices are Chicco Kid Fit at Target, or Britax Parkway at various places (kids who have both tend to prefer the comfort of the Kid Fit, but kids without a choice tend to love the PW). Diono Monterey is also a super choice

    Thanks Jools.

We've tried the KidFit at Target and she likes how cushy it is, so it's definitely in the running.

I missed your message about the Recaro boosters - we were up in North Jersey for an outing and then we spent about 4 hours at IKEA 'til the Turnpike calmed down. (The way I see it is they have food, bathrooms, air conditioning, and a ball pit; my car has ... air conditioning. Sort of. It was the perfect spot to wait out accident clearing.)
