Default safely dispose expired car seat?

our babies r us store already had the trade in event for expired seats earlier this year, so can't trade my current expired carseat.

How do i safely dispose of it? the local consignment stores won't take it.

do other stores like target or buy buy baby do their version of trade in event like babies r us?

Do BRU only do the trade in once a year? a local seemed to think so, and therefore missed the boat if that's the case. How does one find out for sure when BRU store do that? cuz if that's the case then i may hang on the seat for a while.

I thought it all happened at the same time in September.

Otherwise, cut straps and leave with your trash.

BRU has previously done trade-in events in September and then in Feb or March (IIRC), but last year they cut back and only had one. If you think you will need a new piece of baby gear and have room to store the car seat, it may be worth it to hold onto it and see if BRU does a trade-in soon. If not, cut the straps and throw it away, like Philly_Mom said. You may be able to sell or reuse the cover though.

I would call your BRU and ask them. I already threw my ad away, but it was in the September store ad/coupon book I just got in the mail. I didn't look at the dates to see if it starts on the first or later in the month. I assumed it was the same at all U.S. BRU stores, but I could be wrong.

I didn't get my booklet! Does it say what you can bring to get the coupon? Does it have to be a carseat or travel system? (Yeah, I work there, too, information is hard to find when you are sprinting from customer to customer, lol)

It says save 25% (or 30 with BRU CC) on a new car seat or travel system when you trade up a used one. See babiesrus.com/carseattradeup for details. Excludes maxi-Cosi, peg perego, clearance and hot deal items.

    Thanks!

(PS, dang, no Maxi Cosi...someone returned an online rodifix and I was going to use my credit card to get it at an almost-reasonable price, oh well, maybe I'll just get a Maestro, as if I neeeed another seat...)
