Default What school shoes do your DC wear in the winter?

DD is in kindergarten so this is my first year for school shoes. Right now she is wearing natives and keen sandals, and as I'm looking to fall and winter I'm a little unsure on what to put her in.

Our temps are chilly but not frigid, and rarely snow. She has boots for wet days but what for the rest? Sneakers?

I should say I am all practical when it comes to shoes- tough wearing that are sensible for her age and activity are what I try to go for.

Sneakers. If there's a lot of snow on the ground, kids will wear snowboots and change into sneakers at school.

My DC wear sneakers to school. They have gym every day and must wear sneakers. It's easier to send them wearing sneakers so they don't have to change shoes for gym.

And boots if there's snow on the ground and then they change into their shoes.

Sneakers here, too. In the winter, they wear snow boots and change into sneakers there. Most weeks, I have them bring sneakers on Monday and home on Friday. Sometimes they need them here on weekends, but very rarely during the week do they need them.

Sneakers are by far the easiest choice. In our school they're required for gym days, so my DS wears sneakers every day just so I don't have to keep track. DD, who's still in preschool, wears mary janes often that have a sneaker sole. I can see her still liking those in kindy, but I'd have to keep track of gym days and put her in boots on snowy days (DS brings boots daily in the winter, but rarely wears them to school), so I'm pretty sure she'll just be wearing sneakers daily come elementary school.

Waterproof Keens. They are tough, and perfect for play.
