Default High back or low back booster

Right now, DS (almost 8 yo and a big kid) is riding in a harmony HBb booster in my Sienna. We need a booster for him in DH's car, so I would consider just a lbb for that. However, we travel from MI to Florida every year, and he does occasionally sleep in his seat, so wondering if I should get a more comfy HBb for my van and move the harmony to dh's car.

I will also be bringing two other kids to school and will need to get three seats across in the 3rd row of my mini van, so need something with a relatively small footprint. One of the seats will be a maestro, and I'm not sure what the other seat will be yet.

You could get a leg-supportive backless booster (Evenflo Amp is a fave for big kids) and a Cardiff Headrest for the long trip, maybe? http://www.amazon.com/Cardiff-CBL100...ywords=cardiff (I found mine on Zulily much cheaper...).
Is he 60lbs yet? The Incognito is really good for three across (Must be out of stock, that happens from time to time, never pay more than $19.95 for that one, I even got all three of mine open box buys for about $15...) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FLXBHIU/...ords=incognito
A really nice big super cushy seat is the Diono Monterey, which also becomes a great backless, or the Recaro Performance, which does not.
Anyway, yeah, a backless is fine for an almost 8 yo.

thanks, Jools! I'm thinking about getting the AMP, but I see the Diono Solana is close in price. Do you know much about it?

I think the Solana looks nice, but it seems to have a lot of Amazon complaints about lack of padding, though if it's contoured right, that doesn't usually matter... If it has free returns, it might be worth a shot to try?

We just bought the Amp at Walmart a few weeks ago (it was labeled Big Kid Booster or something very similar) and I think it has great cushioning. I really wanted a comfortable seat to minimize figeting. I think it was $24.xx.

thanks for letting me know! I felt it in the store, and I agree it has great cushioning! I think that's the one I will go with.
