Default How do I force my DH to go to the doctor??

My husband needs to go to the doctor. He won't go. He takes pride in the fact that he never goes to the doctor. I think
he's gone once maybe twice in the 20 years I've known him.

How can I force him to go to the doctor?

When you find out let me know. Also if you have an idea how to get a DH to the dentist, I will take that advice too.

I don't know. For months I knew something was up with dh but it wasn't until he fainted that he took himself in...and had stage 3 cancer.

eta- that's not true, nowadays I just schedule his appointments. A bit annoying (I'm not his mom ) but it is effective and Id rather him go to the Dr. than choose a battle of wills over who will make the appointment.

I call and make an appointment for Dh and then I make arrangements to get him there. As in, I clear the family schedule and I set it for a date when I know work cannot intrude. This means we spend holidays (day after Thanksgiving, hello!) at the Drs. I have also taken him to the ER or UC when he was complaining of symptoms (chest pain!) and I told him he was scaring the kids, which was a bit of an exaggeration, but got the point across.

I am guessing you have offered to go with him already? I would not be above making the appointment and then picking him up for "lunch" and going with him to the appt.!

Or in the alternative, do you have any doctor friends you can rope into "seeing" him socially? Some would be fine with this, some would not. I would totally give it a try! Your DH would then follow up with a further appointment in the office.

I've made the appointment. He won't go.

I've offered to go with him. That's the last thing he wants.

The above bolded part is something I might have to try!! Or withholding sex.

    Following.

We are losing $300 through our health insurance for DH not going. It is ridiculous.
