    Default GRRRRR Replacement Slow Cooker?

WTH?! My 3 year old beloved 7 quart Calphalon slow cooker just developed a crack in the insert. Jumped online and it appears that Calphalon stopped making slow cookers and you can't buy a replacement insert. I swear my mom's crock lasted 30 years! Now what to buy? Or start using my dust collecting Instant Pot?

I use my instant pot. Haven't dragged out the slow cooker in forever!

I'm just scared it's going to blow up.

That happened to my Crock Pot brand slow cooker and they didn't make a replacement part (just kept making newer models instead). DH ended up getting me a brand new replacement for Christmas, though I don't think it cooks as evenly as my Rival one that I got as a wedding gift 12 yrs. ago. The Rival is round though and doesn't fit a whole chicken, rack of ribs, large roast, etc., which is why I got an oval one to use instead. Still hanging onto the Rival in case the oval one dies on me again.

I recently broke my old trusty round crock pot and replaced with an oval one and it does not cook evenly! I'm tempted to go the Instant Pot route next.

Can you find a replacement on Ebay perhaps? Maybe someone's unused wedding gift....

What, the Instant Pot? Nah. I'm the fraidiest of fraidy cats and it's pretty much fool proof (but you gotta read the instructions). My lazy solution was to have DH do the reading and figuring it out and then show me how.

If it blows up on slow cook mode, you're doing it very, very wrong.

It won't blow up! I promise! If you use it as a slow cooker, you're not even engaging any pressure. It's just like using any other slow cooker. As a pressure cooker, the top is locked on. It's totally safe and foolproof.
