Default What movie for Valentine's Day party? 4-5yo's

I want to throw a little party for DC and a few friends for V-day. Thinking about showing a movie. What movie would be appropriate for 4-5 yo's featuring themes of friendship? Nothing scary, and prefer something that's not too long. Preferably not something kids are likely to have already seen (like Frozen or anything too current). Also - do I need to ask the parents if showing a movie is okay? So far for playdates I have had a no-electronics rule. I could just note the movie in the Evite I suppose.

You don't need to ask permission. Just say it in the invite, like you said.
    Homeward Bound
    Enchanted
    Dolphin Tale
Maya the Bee (very cute and little kid friendly!)

You could also go to the library and ask for recommendations. Sometime tv shows have holiday specials that you can check out. I always loved Blues Clues for little ones.

For that age group, I would do a shorter "special" instead of a full movie. Something like Charlie Brown's Valentines special, although that one is probably too advanced for that age group. Maybe Caillou or Sophia the First or similar. You could even have a couple of them ready to watch if the kids are really into it.

That's what I was thinking. I know Mickey Mouse Clubhouse has had Valentine's specials. I'd go the short tv show route.

Yes to this! Short show like 20-30 minutes would be perfect. Serve treats and visit and you're done!

My PBS is having a show called "Happy Valentine's Day, George!" on Monday AM and a new Nature Cat episode on Wednesday AM, "Happy Valentine's Day," and a Daniel Tiger also on Wed "It's Love Day!" Any of these would be perfect!
