    Default Lamp

My daughter has recently started getting scared at night, and wants the hall light on until she falls asleep. I want to get her a lamp (not a night light), that sits next to her bed that provides some light and comfort, but that will turn off after awhile on its own. Any suggestions? Thanks!

My ds2 sleeps with a 25w lamp and we put a light timer on it. However, he hates to wake up in the middle of the night and find it dark. So, we just don't bother with the timer. If he needs light to sleep, we decided it's not a battle worth fighting.

We have a bedside lamp too and I used to turn it off before I went to bed. She would wake up screaming. We just leave it on now. Now, she is sleeping with a lovey over her eyes and still won't let me turn the light off. Not a battle worth fighting.

You could always put any lamp on a timer. I have Belkin devices that you plug anything into and they will go off after 30mins, 3 hours, or 6 hours.

I finally did this for my DS and it has been awesome! No more waking 2-3 times a night. I just use a small table lamp I bought years ago and place it on his dresser.

Thanks everyone! I think we will just leave her lamp on, because you are right, there is no reason to fight over this!

DD falls asleep with her closet light on. When I go to bed, I shut the doors until they are only slightly open and it's just enough light.

DS2 has a constellation globe he wants on all night. We just let it be.

I like salt lamps for this. I leave one on in our bedroom all the time and it has a nice glow at night.
