yes it is absolutely discouraged/forbidden. There is no good way to get dissolved drugs out of the water at the wastewater treatment plant so it really just stays in the treated water.

I would hold on to the pills till they expire as long as you can safely store them. Then you can take them to the poilce station.

I always hold on to it until the police collection date.

Am I the only one who thinks, just hold onto them, you never know when you might need a major pain killer. Just store in a safe place.

Well, I keep it because you never know if you will need it in an emergency, middle-of-the-night-toothache type situation. I have a ton left from my back surgeries and I know it's likely that I'll need them again, so I just store it safely.

We keep them beyond the expiration date. They may be less effective over time but will still work in a pinch.

Agree with the recommendations on reaching out to your closest sheriff's office or police station. Also, just saw a news story that Walgreen's will start having drop boxes throughout thousands of its locations - might be worth calling a store that is near to you. Try to avoid flushing or throwing in the trash.

Yep this is what I was thinking. Glad I'm not alone. Never had to use but we just keep them just in case.
