I swear by Pottery Barn for all of our bedding. It holds up so well, maintains color and is soft. They have extra 20% of clearance patterns today. Bed Bath & Beyond had a bunch of clearance in store as well (YMMV).

I second Pottery Barn (Kids) for their awesome patterns and good quality. They often have clearance sheet sets <$40 for twin. We have PBK duvet covers paired with IKEA comforters...best of both worlds
