Google Play Store gc, what to use it on?

DS was given $50 in Google Play Store gift cards. We are at a loss as to what to use it on. Any ideas? DS is thinking about a new phone, can it be used on items to purchase or only apps?

You can buy movies too.

You can use it on anything that is Android and uses the Google Play Store as their store. We used it for our Google Nexus 7 and some other Android device that we had at some point (perhaps Galaxy Tab 4?). That is a veryamount! Not sure if you can use it towards the purchase of a device, though. I believe for Apple, an iTunes GC is only for iTunes, not towards devices...Google might be the same. Cannot hurt to try, though!
