Can you share more? I'm not asking for confidential info, just curious to know so I'm not overly disappointed.

Her blog post about her book was a little over the top IMHO, but I guess most bloggers excel at self promotion.

    Interesting! Do tell more!

Do you mean her latest work is junk or her entire writings/positions/etc.? Not a truth teller?

It's very much not my cup of tea. I only know of her from people reposting her stuff on Facebook. I finally clicked through to see who this person was. I..... don't get it.

Admittedly, I am not a fan of these self-made viral blog "celebrities" who try and make the normal everyday into something deep and profound or whatever. I feel bad for their kids, growing up like this with cameras in their faces and walls of text about their every milestone, having all that dirt out there about your parents and your childhood.

But, hey, she's met Oprah, so clearly she's winning at her craft.

Yes, this is it in a nutshell. I couldn't stand her stuff even before I realized my friends' connection. Let's just say that she talks about a lot of people in that book who are horrified at what she said because it's absolutely not true, especially her college stories.

I will fully admit that I read the book with a raised eyebrow (or two). I am pretty sure I would not be comfortable sharing such intimate details of my life or my children's life. That said, much of what she said really did resonate with me and I would be interested in discussing it.

her blog occasionally really resonates, and I was all set to read her book (haven't read the others). But I just don't think I can read about that much pain in a marriage. It's not my life, and I'm not unsympathetic, but.....I just don't want to.

I'm finding the tone of the book really sad so far. Does it get better?

Sort of, maybe hopeful is a better word. I didn't understand her college experience really. What did not resonate at all was her wish to just drink with girlfriends without boys present. I have no idea what she didn't do that!
