Default highlighter for women over 40

Hello- does anyone have any highlighter recommendations for women in their 40's? I don't wear a lot of makeup but I think a nice highlighter would be worth adding. So many online and so many different reviews. Any favorites? TIA

Kevyn Aucoin celestial powder in candlelight is a very beautiful classy highlighter. They have it in a single as well as in various palettes.

Also, the center shade in the Hourglass Ambient Light palette is very beautiful and subtle. It also comes in a single now, but the palette is awesome!

I'm way over 40 and wear makeup daily, I have no idea what a highlighter is! Checked out those links, wow, I can't imagine spending that much money on makeup, my shoes don't even cost 62.00 dollars. Does cover girl make some a little cheaper and what does it do???

An inexpensive alternative is Essence Pure Nude highlighter, it's only $4.99 at Ulta and many YouTube beauty gurus rave about it.

I don't wear makeup on a daily basis. But sometimes when we go out to dinner, I'll let my
daughter do my hair and makeup. She is always wanting to do my makeup and she is fabulous.
She uses her highlighter palettes on me.

She has the Anastasia Moon Child glow kit.

And the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette

She also has a couple Becca highlighters but I can't remember the colors.

... and here I was thinking, "I really like my clicky Sharpie highlighters, I'm so pleased I spent the extra money on them!"

Except I was thinking, "Why does she need a different one now that she's over 40?"
