Default Help - how to make this toga for DS

DS needs to dress up as Zeus - yes I know these instructions are for a Roman toga, but I'm just trying to do the white tunic part as have other fabric will drape over his shoulder in a color etc to make it look more like Zeus. I can't figure out how they folded the fabric and where cut the head hole. Did they fold it in half, then fold it again in half??

I have 2.5 yards of white muslin to work with. I fold it in half and can cut a head hole along the horizontal folded edge, but it looks like in the picute they cut it on the corner and there's a folded edge each side. Any ideas to either make these instructions work or how to do the tunic. I could just get hold for the head on the folded edge and then stitch up part of the sides.
    Thanks.

I don't think the instructions were written/proofread well. I'm thinking you are supposed to cut the appropriate length (knee up and over shoulder and back to other side of knee) and width (I think I'd measure maybe half way to the elbow?). Then fold in half width, then fold in half lengthwise (like they say) before cutting out the quarter circle/corner to make the head hole. Unfold. Head through the hole, belt around the waist to hold tunic in place (or sew up each side enough to make it stay together). And then do the actual toga piece.

This might be a little more helpful:

Or even this (instructions for Ionic & Doric chitons at bottom, scroll down):

I know I've seen YouTube videos of how to drape a toga; this is one:

    This is another, from WikiHow:

I took Latin all 4 years in high school and I was involved with Latin Club. At our end of the year banquet, we always
wore togas. I always used a sheet to make my toga.

Default Help - how to make this toga for DS

Thanks everyone. DS has to be able to put the costume on himself and he can't wrap/tie the fabric by himself to do a regular toga.

I did what was suggested, folded the fabric in half width wise then again lengthwise. I cut the neck hole a little too big, but then pleated and sewed it so it fit better. We got 3/4 yard of a bright blue material, draped it over DS's shoulder and across his body, sewed 2 corners together, then put a big gold button on it. I used a gold rope as a belt to hold the tunic together and hot glued gold trim to the tunic's neckline and hemline. DS covered his flip flops with gold fabric and made laces to wrap up his ankles. He made and painted a lightning bolt from cardboard.

He is happy with the costume and can get himself into it without help. I have a burn from the hot glue gun - I repeatedly burnt same spot on my finger. Owwww
