Saltwater Canvas is running a sale on some of its beach totes including all of the Whale bags. There are similar savings on Amazon (sold by Saltwater Canvas LLC), including a couple with Prime, so you save on shipping.
I bought my mom the Whale Lite bag, which I guess is new and made with a lighter mesh. And it has a covered fabric bottom. I got my Whale bag at the end of last season. I adore the pockets, but find it a wee heavy. I figured my mom wouldn't want one as heavy.

I got the Whale Lite bag and it really is much lighter. The mesh feels a little different--more rubbery maybe? But I think mom will like it.DS: Raising heck since 12/09
