I don't think DS knew these existed last year. But a couple of weeks ago, he expressed some mild interest. He NEVER shows interests in toys, so I immediately put my mom on the case. But based on this thread, I just told her to hold on. Maybe I'll have her get him a game for his PS4 instead.

    DD was oblivious last year.

She's been asking for one since August.

It's a cross between a Tamagotchi and a Furby, both of which used to wig me out when I was a teenager.

DS3 begged for one. It's cute but so so so overpriced. He barely played with it past the first few days. So not worth what they actually cost.

My 7 y/o DD bought herself the twins recently. She likes them and plays with them daily so far. They are like Furbys, but they hatch from an egg. The twins can interact with each other and each one has different interactive things they can do with you.

    Default Are hatchimals worth it?

Thanks all! I gave my grandma the idea as she did ask for toy ideas. Glad to see that is on sale.

I had a Tomagachi when I was 20 and I loved it; I was also a nanny so the kids I nannied for had them as did my siblings and we had a competition to see how long they lived. I got mine to live for 22 days and it died the day I met my husband at wedding because I forgot to feed it. I think I only ever got it to 14 days again a few times before it finally died and never worked again.

I don't know, but we are about to find out! I bought two Hatchimals Surprise for the kids, at the suggestion of my SIL, who got one for her kids last year. DS actually did ask for one because he's seen them in the stores. We'll see. I highly doubt it is the sort of thing that will get tons of play after the "big event" but who knows. My kids like stuffed animals, so maybe?
