What shoes do you wear when traveling from a cold, snowy climate

to a hot, tropical one? It's a family trip, and I have limited suitcase room, so I don't want to wear boots on the plane and change when I get off. Other than tennis shoes, I can't think of anything I can wear with socks for the snowy day we leave...

I usually wear ballet flats with matching socks and remove the socks when we arrive. I don't love the look of the socks but necessary to keep from being barefoot at security and keeps your feet warm on the plane.

I have worn boots to the car and left boots in the car and changed into flip flops or the like (if leaving car at the airport)
I have worn beach shoes with socks and removed socks
But usually I wear sneakers ...

If I didn't need sneakers, I would do wool socks under sandals. Not fashionable, but warm enough unless you're walking through slushy snow.

Sneakers. And a hoodie and T-shirt. I always leave my coat in the car. The hoodie can be used in air conditioned places and on the flight.
