What to wear?

Attending a small Xmas party in someone’s home. 6 adult couples. I bought several dresses at Nordstrom to try out just waiting for them to arrive. Im guessing cords and a sweater would be too casual? TIA

I’d probably do dark jeans or black pants and a nice shirt. Something comfy for sitting around in.

For that type of event around here, most people would wear dark wash jeans or black pants and a festive sweater or top (something with a little sparkle) and nice shoes (usually boots of some sort or dressier flats). I'm in the south though, and my group doesn't tend to get super dressy for stuff like that. But we do like to look a little nicer what we would do if it wasn't the holidays.
