Default Go away for a weekend or a day trip Boston

I’m looking for something to do with the kids next weekend. We’ve not had a vacation for a year, I’m working all of next week but intend to take Friday afternoon off and want to go somewhere with the kids either for the weekend or even just a day trip. I have a 14 and a 10 year old, neither of whom are very sporty (the Younger one loves sports, he was asking me about skiing but he’s never done it before and my older one hasn’t either and will crib about walking a block so I’m not sure that’s a viable weekend). We live in the Boston suburbs. In the summer, we sometimes take day trips to the beach or Cape Ann or something. We’ve done all the museums around town so we’re really looking for someplace to escape to. What would you recommend?

    Great Wolf Lodge
We once stayed at the Boston Four Seasons for a night -- we had movie night in the room with popcorn (some promo they ran) and brunch in Bristol Lounge. They have a pool (and a workout room which the 14 might like?).
Woodstock VT is also nice -- we once stayed at the Woodstock Inn.
Also check out places down the cape that have indoor pools?

We went to the Cliff House in Cape Neddick, Maine over New Years (<1.5 hrs from Boston). Our boys are 14.5 & 11.5 and we all said it was one of the best weekends.

They just underwent a $40 million renovation that was finished late spring of 2017.
The rooms all overlook the ocean and have private balconies. They have an indoor pool and outdoor hot tub which we all used even at 4 degrees! They have a good weight/fitness room and offer yoga classes. The spa looks amazing and anyone staying at the hotel can use the spa locker rooms, not just with a spa service (sauna, steam room, showers, etc) The food at both restaurants is pricey but amazing! They have a small movie theatre that they show kid themed movies in, most were more geared towards littler kids but they did show A Force Awakens one night we were there.
It’s just outside Ogunquit which is a neat town, walking the Marginal Way is nice (similar to Cliff Walk in Newport). We didn’t venture away from the hotel as it was so cold out when we were there but are going back in April so will explore more then.

You could hear down to Mystic/casinos in Connecticut. I used to live in that area. The Sugar restaurant at Foxwoods seems to be the big thing for teens right now according to my friend's Facebook posts. There is a!so the outlet mall with vineyard vines. Your kids maybe too old for the aquarium but the seaport is great if they are interested in history at all.
