Traveling from the middle of the country and don't want to lose too much time to travel. Not interested in Vegas (not our scene) and went to New Orleans a couple years ago. Suggestions? It will be mid-summer.

Savannah? We went to Savannah in early October one year which was really pretty. Wasn’t too hot for us either.
SF? It’s a great spot to visit for 3/4 days. We did that as a pit stop for 3 nights before heading on to Hawaii. Saw the wharf, china town, went up to Golden Bridge. Tons of things to do!

I wasn’t interested in Vegas until I went to Vegas. So much good food! We enjoyed the gardens at the Wynn, art at Bellagio plus general sightseeing. No gambling. Fun shows. I wouldn’t rule it out. Flights there are really cheap. Hotels are super nice and lower priced than other cities. You could fly in and go to Red Rock Spa instead with just a brief visit to the Strip.
How about DC? It’s nice to be kid free and check out all the museums at a leisurely pace.

What do you like to do?
I'm dying to do wine region in Oregon. It's a short drive from Portland. You could also do Napa/Sonoma (although I would stay in Healdsburg).

Nashville is supposed to be great. Savannah or Charleston are both great.

Did you like New Orleans? What did you like about it? Asking because I am so not into historical sightseeing and Savannah didn’t do it for me. It was fine and I liked being away with dh but that’s about it. Now, if you enjoyed the historical sightseeing aspect of NOLA then Savannah would be good. If there were other things you liked about NOLA, what were they?

We went to Charleston and loved it. Couples weekend 3 nights. Great food. Great to walk around. And a good Crossfit gym if you are into that sort of thing

DH and I have been talking about Nashville - it seems like a good adult getaway weekend. Also Austin, but maybe not mid-summer :-)

I also wonder if you liked New Orleans. Savannah and Charleston are both great, but, IMO, very similar to New Orleans. DH and I have done and enjoyed both NYC and San Francisco for the 3-4 days. We also liked Sedona. Nashville is fun if you like food and live music (not just country) or if you are country music fans. Otherwise, not sure what else you would do there.
Do you like the beach? The Gulf coast of Florida has lots of nice options.
