Where did you find that info? Not about the closing but the fact that they are only taking gift cards for 30 more days.

I was trying to tell my friend to use her gift card and she said it takes awhile for bankruptcy proceedings, etc. etc

Thanks for this! I didn’t think to use mine. I thought it had under $10, but found it was over $70!!! I need to think of what we need to buy!!

An update on this: I just drove by my local TRU and there were signs up for 30% off. There may be some exclusions, but if you have gift cards, this might be a good time to go before things start getting picked over.

We searched (on the phone) for a Nintendo switch game - Rocket League in our spring break travels. We got 5% off and used a gift card. Stuff was not crazy cheap.

Our store had most stuff at 50%. But many brands were not reduced at all, or not much. Lego was 5%, which I think is their normal pricing. But we wanted to use up the gift card so got a set. I am guessing that certain brands will buy back their items at more than TRU can sell it for at clearance. Some of the BRU area products like skin care and monitors were also not on sale.

Our stores were “up to 30%” but most items were only 10% off. Hardly a deal.

I was there last Saturday before liquidation and I saw them pack up all the Pokémon trading cards. I’m guess as the days/weeks go by, the higher valued items like Legos will be boxed up before it gets too discounted.
