Does anyone remember this game??

That's funny. The Mastermind I remember, and which our family won as a prize a few years ago, is differnet. It's a deduction game, but you try to figure out a code using pegs of different colors. Your opponent comes up with different patterns using the colored pegs, and you can indicate whether they ahve the right color, wrong position or right color, right position. You use eliminiation and logic to figure out which is which and guess the code.

No murders, cards, or scenarios involved in my Mastermind. Were there two games with the same name?

That's the only Mastermind I know as well.

I just googled Mind Trap, and that's the game OP is thinking of, we had it, I remember the design of the game box. Mastermind involves colored pegs, I played it while camping with my family a lot.

If you like this style of game, look for one called Crack the Case, too. It sounds exactly like the game you described except they're not all murders, but a variety of crimes. We loved playing it in the car as kids!

We just found Mindtrap in my inlaws basement. Would this game be appropriate for elementary ages kids on a road trip? Or is it more for teens and grownups?
