Default Hosting A Breakfast - Coffee Questions

I'm hosting a casual breakfast for 20 women. I have a 5 cup coffee maker (Bonavita). Thinking of making a pot of decaf in my coffee maker and then getting a coffee traveler from Starbucks.

Do you think I need one or two coffee travelers? It's approximately 96 ounces of coffee.

Is a 5 cup pot (probably only 2.5 mugfuls) enough decaf? I guess I think a decaf coffee traveler is too big for decaf. For decaf drinkers, would you be offended if I made you a Starbucks Via instant?

The breakfast is short (1.5 hours) and menu is super simple (bagels, fruit, quiche, coffee cake).

I think your 5c decaf + 2 boxes of coffee are good. Never horrible to have extra coffee (worse to have too little). Couldn’t you brew more decaf quickly if you run out?

ETA- will you have hot water for tea too?

Assuming it's sometime soon, you could make things a little easier by doing iced coffee. I use the Pioneer Woman cold brew method and all it requires is a big pitcher and some cheesecloth. It's also no big deal if you have extra - just throw it in the fridge.

I think what you are planning is plenty.

If you might do this again, you could consider buying a hot carafe and just make extra pots of coffee before the party. My sister has one, and between us, we use it quite a bit. (And we don't entertain often)

I want to be light and frolicsome.

I did that for a breakfast and had lots of leftovers. We aren’t huge coffee drinker so gave the extras to our mail person. I preferred having extra than not having enough.

As a decaf drinker, I would not be offended by a Starbucks Via, especially if you’re also offering tea.

I think one coffee traveler is enough. Not everyone has coffee or if you run out then you have your machine as a back up. That’s just my experience with providing coffee in the morning. We started with 2 travelers then went to one and still have leftovers and this was for a teacher function at school with more than 20 people.

One traveler is enough as some are probably tea drinkers too. Instant Starbucks decaf wouldn’t offend me either.

    Your plan sounds fine.

For the future, one organization I attend asks for people to rsvp to breakfast as coffee or non-coffee drinkers.
