Default boys bathing suit cut wider?

I've been having trouble finding a comfortable shorts and rash guard top for DS this year. He's on the broad/husky side. The one that I bought from Lands End based on his current clothing size is uncomfortably tight. When I size up, the shorts become too long. Is there a boys bathing suit brand that tends to have a more generous cut?

I bought ds1 a husky suit at target. Fits in great. Old navy carries husky shorts he likes too.

If he's young enough, I'm not sure if it's still the case, but Gymboree suits used to run wider than others.

You didn't say what size he is. Lands End has Husky sizes starting at size 8, I think. I would guess that Hanna Andersson also might be a bit more generously cut, but not sure.

    Nike bathing suits seem generous.

Target and Lands End husky sizes are dependable.

I would look for separates instead of a set. Get each piece in the size that works best for that part of his body.

He wears a size 8, so it sounds like Husky is the way to go. Thank you for the suggestions!

My oldest went through a phase where I bought husky sizes. Lands End had the best selection. Vineyard Vines and Hanna Andersson suits also run wider. My youngest is solid but not in husky sizes.
