Place for 2 nights in Maui

We are taking advantage of an opportunity to take the family to a work conference in Maui next year. For most of the week, we will be in the Wailea area, but we have a couple of days prior to the conference for us to go elsewhere. The only other time that we have been to Maui, we stayed in the Kaanapali area, which was great. That said, we don't want to go back to the same place we have already been. I was thinking maybe Paia, which was cute for the couple hours we were there, but I would love any other suggestions. And any specific places that you liked to go to or stay in, would be fantastic. We love to stay in the Napili/Kapalua area. Very different than Kaanapali, but you can still easily access the restaurants, stores, movie theaters, etc.
