Default Update #23: Quick....need reasonably priced interview separates!

I have an interview with an new state agency on Monday morning! I just found out this AM.....thankfully Monday is my day off so I don’t have to ask for time off. I haven’t interviewed outside my agency in years! I prefer a skirt bottom and a jacket. I have plenty of blouses, and a pair of black pumps so I am fine there.

I would like to spend $250 or less.

What about using Rent the Runway? They have work stuff. I know you've had good success with them before.

No luck...I would prefer to wear suit separates and they have a bunch of work appropriate clothing, but no suit separates, which is a huge shame if you ask me.

Calvin Klein at Nordstrom Rack. Really reasonably priced and lots of mix and match.

Do you have a mall near you? I usually avoid malls but this is the one instance where I would go to Macy's, Nordstrom, Loft, etc. to evaluate their options. Good luck!

Ann Taylor, Loft, Banana Republic, J Crew! Bonus if you have a mall with more than one of these options!

Ann Taylor outlet would be my first stop if you have one nearby. That is where most of my suit separates are from. But if not, I'd try Macy's, Nordstrom, Loft, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, etc. At department stores I'd ask as soon as I walked into that department to avoid spending a ton of time looking for something they may not have.

Thank you all! There is an Ann Taylor Outlet near me. I will probably try that today at lunch. I don’t have really great luck at Nordstrom Rack because the nicest stores near me don’t stock a lot of 12+ size clothes and it drives me crazy. If I had time to order online I would.

Yes I do have a few malls near me, but the best ones are further away, South Coast Plaza, and Beverly Center, but I have a feeling I will end up over budget just based on experience of shopping at Banana, JCrew, and other specialty mall shops; and at Banana their pants/skirts don’t fit all that well.

I've had luck with NY &Co, Lands End, Annn Taylor,Talbots and Coldwater Creek, Gap in the past.

I saw some stuff online at H&M but never tried it before

Good luck with the interview! Keep us posted.
