Default Recommendations for make your own fort or play house structure?

    Hi,

Does anyone have any suggestions on a building fort / fortress / playhouse set for elementary school kids?

My 6 year old is obsessed with making forts out of furniture. I am happy for her to keep doing that, but we are staying with my parents and they aren't crazy with her using the cushions.

I searched around on Amazon and then on old BBB threads and did not find much. One poster here loved "Brik a Block" so that might be a possibility, but it is very expensive ($216 for 60 panels at Walmart). I also found 'Fort Magic', which is an expensive set that was on Shark Tank, but the reviews were not great.

If anyone has suggestions that your kids love, please let me know! TIA.

Moderators, I would be grateful if you could leave this on the BBB Lounge for traffic, at least for now, if possible. Thank you!

I saw this when the girls were younger (and building forts) and always meant to try putting together a fort building bag, but never did. Maybe you can get a few ideas here?

My kids still put the Brik a Block up 1-2 times a year. Not DS1 so much, but the other 2.

Sometimes they throw a sheet over 1-2 card tables and sit underneath. Those are my favorite forts

Air fort! Funny you should ask. I just recently bought this on a whim as a Lightning Deal because I was tired of my 7yo hauling out blankets and chairs every time she wanted to build a fort. We love it! Super easy to set up. All you need is a standard box fan (I bought one on Amazon). Kind of pricey for just some fabric, but I love that there aren't a bunch of pieces to put away/store. The convenience is worth the cost IMO.

Wow, thank you! What a nice offer! But I would totally pay for the shipping!

I have a very congested BBB inbox that I have GOT to delete, but I will try to do it tomorrow so I can pm you tomorrow to see where you live and try to suss out how much it might cost and whether it's worth it in the end. If I can get to it soon, I'll pm you. If I can't (have a deadline right now), don't feel like you have to wait for me! I understand if you end up giving it away if I don't get back to you soon!

No worries - take your time. My deadline to get them out of the house is Labor Day because the charity yard sale I’ll donate them to is mid-September.

We also have sets of these https://www.amazon.com/EocuSun-Child...+crawl+through

We have maybe 6 house parts and 8 tunnels. I don't remember the details, but it was some crazy good deal a long time ago (probably posted here!). Kids really enjoyed.
