    Default aquariums in DC, VA

Posting here for traffic, mods please move if not allowed.

We’ll have about 3-4 hours to fill on our way from Annapolis to Richmond. Would love to fill it with a visit to an aquarium, if it’s not too far off our route. The kids have been asking to go to an aquarium where they can touch the animals. A quick google search pulled up VA Living Museum and VA Aquarium and Marine Science Center. Are there any others in DC/VA? Any recommendations?

Baltimore's is always recommended in Inner Harbor. I keep missing it though.

Baltimore gets my vote too but I haven’t tried the others you asked about. Baltimore is world class awesome though. eta- I'm sure Baltimore would be too far out of your way though to justify the cost of admission for such a short window of time.

Between Annapolis and Richmond, no. How old are your kids?

They are 10,8, and 6. Will look into Baltimore. The kids have been wanting to go to an aquarium the last two summers but we have nothing within two hours of home so maybe/hopefully we can finally cross it off the list.

About the Baltimore aquarium—how long is the wait to get in? The last time I was there (it’s been a while), the lines were really long.

How about Bass Pro shop? It's north of Richmond on 95 and has a GREAT aquarium! Plus it gets you closer to Richmond dealing with traffic. Because it COULD take you 2 hours+ from Annapolis to Richmond.

Inner harbor Aquarium is nice but like someone said buy ahead. Its been several years but the VA Science museum in Virginia beach VA was really cool

Everything happens for a reason, sometimes the reason is you're stupid and make bad decisions
