FWIW my sister interviewed last year in two Nor Cal districts last year and she wore suit separates w/o a jacket and was offered jobs at 2 of the 3 districts she interviewed in.

It's a super small position, but good for slowly getting back into the profession- I wasn't really ready to start back yet as DD doesn't start K for a couple of years, but it's in the district where my kids go, so I thought I should give it a try. 
I ended up wearing the navy dress and gold jewelry (school colors are navy and gold). I was worried the dress was a little too short, but since I was sitting the whole time, and half the interview was in a conference room at a long table where you could only see my top half, I think it was totally fine.
