Default Kings Island area must see with a 10 yo

DS1 wants to go to Kings Island. I’m thinking we can make it a long weekend trip or maybe a longer trip if we go during the summer. Please recommend other places to visit in the area. He loves soccer and science. TIA

On your way is COSI in Columbus, which is a fantastic science museum!
What about Kings Island is the draw? Because Cedar Point is even better.

If we did a long weekend just the two of us we would try to get both parks in. Unless Kings Island doesn’t compare and isn’t worth the stop.

For a summer road trip with DS2 included I’m contemplating NY to Cleveland (Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and MLB) to Sandusky (Cedar Point) to Mason (Kings Island) to Nashville to Huntsville (Space & Rocket Center). Possibly Atlanta to Charlotte to Richmond return to NY. Just starting to plan though and not sure all those stops are doable and how many days we would need.

COSI is fabulous. Columbus also has a MLS soccer team, the Columbus Crew. Maybe you could catch a game?

ETA: Roadtrippers.com is great for planning trips like this.

Cincinatti's science center is really good. Last time we tried to go, they were renovating it, so call to check that it's open. Also, at the border of OH/KY cincy is Newport Aquarium. It is one of our favorite aquariums, kid friendly, there are a lot of restaurants around it too if you want to have a meal there.
