Default Is it safe to refreeze....

Lentil soup. Completely vegan, so no meat, dairy or eggs. Just lentils and veggies.
Frozen fruit that will be used in smoothies.
I know the quality will likely be affected, but I am more concerned with food safety. Thanks

    I think it’s totally fine.

If they thawed because a freezer failed and got warmer than refrigerator temps, I would toss. If they stayed refrigerated, it would depend on how long the soup was cooked and stored before freezing then again after freezing.

The soup was cooked in the instant pot and frozen right away. it was thawed on Saturday. We brought it with us on vacation but not all was eating. I want to freeze it for taking it back home.

I think I would so long as it was going to be kept frozen and reheated completely to hot before eating. And not thaw and leave in the fridge again.

I sometimes use frozen veggies in stuff I cook and then refreeze to store and eat at some point in the future. not all that different.

You. An definitely refreeze. It’s not dangerous at all as long as everything is still good to eat. Texture and flavor might suffer, though.
