Default Am I being too high maintenance?

I could use a reality check on the new TV we purchased. It is definitely a low cost model, but right out of the box it had these two spots (and halo) that remain brighter/blue and yes, are noticeable in dim scenes during shows. So we went through the manufacturer troubleshooting and they said they could send a tech but since it was new they recommended just putting in for a replacement. We did that and just unboxed the replacement and it even worse (similar spots, but also what appears to be a small dead/black spot right in the center). I’m so frustrated. I know this isn’t a top of the line TV, but it’s replacing a 12+ year old one that still works perfectly fine, we just wanted a bit bigger. So if you have a “cheap” TV, does the picture have flaws like this? It’s a well known brand, but like I said, entry level model.

No. I would return and get a different brand.

Yikes, never had any issues like that, in any of our TVs and none are expensive models. I'd return and get another brand.

No, we buy pretty basic tvs and I've never had that issue. Nor have I heard anyone else have it. I'd return and get something else.

Definitely return it and buy a different kind. You tried this one twice and they are just not meeting a very basic minimum expectation.

Thanks all. When the first one was screwy it felt clear that it should be returned. When the second one was worse I started questioning if maybe my standards were too high. They’re both going back and we will choose something different.

Agree, not normal even for a cheaper TV! FWIW, we've purchased over a dozen TCL TVs of varying sizes (most of them for work, but also one at home) and been very happy with them. We've had our home TV for 6 years and the work TVs for 3 years, no problems at all. Costco usually has them for a good price!
