It appears FAFSAs are starting to be processed!

I received a (mass, not personalized) email from one of the schools ds applied to that they may begin receiving FAFSAs by the end of this week. Today, this post from a CA student aid commission (not in CA so many of you know more than I do) https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4eGh...gThWGlG1tnWjfE seems to be saying they have started processing.

Really hoping things will move along right now. This has a big impact on our family.

On a related note, at least one school that I saw has extended the acceptance deadline to June 1st.

What school is that? California has extended until May 15th, and California student aid commission has extended their deadline to April 2nd.

I finally got mine figured out yesterday after chatting with someone who said even though I switched my tax status (I had accidentally chosen filed separate instead of joint) when I originally did the form on the 1/7 and even though I chose the back button to go back and change it it got locked that we were married filing separate. Ugh I just wish I would’ve known that was the issue and it was super easy to delete the form and resubmit. Dd1 gave me the password and login so I could email myself the link. It took me about 20 minutes to correct.

I just looked at a a few of the popular ones around here, IU and Purdue are May 15th now. Butler University, Ball State, and University of Cincinnati are June 1st. The FAFSA deadlines are extended as well.

I am just waiting for our FAFSA to process so I can correct an error. I didn't catch it until it was submitted, but now can't change it until the school receives it. It probably won't affect anything, though.

Thanks! Was kind of hoping it was a big enough school that California schools would catch on. I think we will be good with May 15th.

Ours was processed! Maximum pell grant which isnt really a surprise. Now I need to know what that means in reality. Esp bc I think mass has a program for students with a max pell grant award. She is looking at 1 MA school. Still waiting to hear back from her top choice.

Just logged in to check & on my side it says ours was processed on Saturday!
