DH always makes me retreat to the car, but last week, I was at the mall with a girlfriend of mine. Ds started wailing, so I sat on one of the cushy chairs in the shoe dept, draped myself with a blanket and went to town.LOL Then I did it in a booth at Applebees, with the same friend, different day. Yipee!~It does get easier!

good for you! It continues to get easier and easier as they get older.
as for your DH . . . the next time he is hungry when you are at the mall, get his lunch to go and send him out to the car to eat! (just kidding, mostly) ...Karen Jacob Nathaniel Feb 91 Logan Elizabeth Mar 03 |

Good for you! And you didn't feel dozens of eyes watching you did you? Most people don't even notice! It really does make life so much easier.

Way to go, Shandelle! I, too have become more bold - and I'm always surprised and pleased at the reactions I get. Most people have no clue...but pregnant moms always smile, grandmas always seem to make comments like, "Somebody's hungry!", and moms with kids often stop to talk! This weekend, we went shopping in Richmond all day and DS ate at California Pizza Kitchen and Starbucks ;)
Oh, and over the holidays, I did my best NIP yet: on a barstool next to my husband at a brewpub! No one even noticed! |

Good job, Shandelle!! Yes, it really does get easier as baby gets older and stronger - more "independent" when nursing, KWIM? And it is so liberating to know that you can feed your baby whenever and whereever he is hungry, isn't it?

Congrats!
We have good friends we go out to eat with on occasion, and since their DS was BF also, it makes me much bolder b/c everyone at our table understands. Here's hoping your DH gets on the bandwagon-- I think my DH likes it 'cause NIP means we don't have to do anything 'special' to ensure DS gets fed. No extra trips to the car, no planning outings around feedings... Have baby, will travel!

If you are ever near a Nordstroms, head there as they have a lounge area in the ladies room where a lot of bf'ing moms retreat--sofas, chairs, rtc.. I'm definately not shy about nip, but do opt for the Nordie's lounge when i can.

Yay, ShandellE!
I don't mind NIP but I always go to Nordstroms when I get the chance. it's so much more comfortable and I enjoy chatting with the other moms.
