I'm thinking of borrowing a friends Graco snugride (not recalled) from a friend so i can use it in a Graco double stroller (i own an evenflo seat used w/ 1st baby). It was bought in 2001, and used w/ her first child for about 8 months, and second one about 4 months, although w/ the bad weather and sicknesses she didn't take the second baby out much in it. I'm sure she's taken good care of the seat.
My question, is it ok to do this? or is it not recommended? I just want to be sure my new baby is safe... thanks! |

As long as it has not been in any accidents, and has not been recalled, you should be fine. Read this thread:

Well, if she bought it in 2001, the seat likely HAS been subject to a recall. See this link: http://www.safetyalerts.com/recall/a/02/v00108.htm
BUT just because those seats were recalled, does not mean your friend's seat has a problem. It is very easy to check the seat to see if it has the problem that the recall was issued for. I also have a Snugride that was part of that recall, but my seat was not affected and I plan to happily use it for subsequent children. You can get the info on how to check the seat to see if it has been affected from the Graco website, www.gracobaby.com. Click on Recall Information. They have a diagram on the site that shows you exactly what to look for to see if your seat if affected. If you can't tell from the diagram, call Graco customer service and they should be able to help. HTH,
