Default Tips for making car trip more bearable for 10-month old DD!

We will be going on a 5-hour car trip from Michigan to Chicago on Sunday (we will miss trick-or-treaters! :-() -- like I explained on another post.

Any tips on how to make the trip more pleasant for DD? If anyone is familiar with the route (we're taking I-94), any tips on good places and/or rest areas where we could stop to stretch and eat?

Thanks so much!
Ana

We did this drive at the beginning of the month. I didn't think it was that bad, considering the fact that I have 2 backseat drivers now. We stopped in Battle Creek for a quick lunch (Fazoli's), and then we stopped at the outlets in Michigan City and let the kids run around. Afterwards, it was an hour drive into the city. There was big-time construction in Indiana after the outlets, but since you're driving on a Sunday, you should be fine.

HTH somewhat...

Whereabouts in Chicago are you going? What time of day were you planning on leaving?

DVD! If you don't have one see if someone has a portable one you can borrow. It made such a difference for me travelling by myself with Jack last weekend. We were in the car about 7 hours. I only used it the last 2-3 hours but boy did it make a huge difference.
Drive safely.

The consulate is downtown and I would also like to go to IKEA in Schaumburg. Do you live in the area?
