carseat wheels for traveling?

We are looking at that set of wheels with a handle that you attach to the back of the carseat, so you can pull it along on the ground. There is a set in the One Step Ahead catalog for $89.95. Anyone have this? Love it? Hate it? In the picture it's attached to a Britax, but I'm assuming it can be used with any convertible seat, including a Radian. Am I wrong?

You must be talking about the GoGoKidz Travelmate. The original version worked only w/ Britax, which is probably why One Step Ahead has a pic w/ Britax. The models you get now, though, work w/ most seats. Their website has a compatibility list, which includes the Radian. (http://www.gogobabyz.com/products/gogo_kids.html). My friends got one to use w/ their Marathon when they fly to Italy and back. They found it to be very handy. Many people really like.

Others find it more worth it to just buy a luggage cart rated to a decent weight (probably at least 80-100#) and bungee the seat to the cart.

$20 luggage cart. I strap the carseat to the cart with a bungee cord through the forward facing belt path and I use the top tether as well. DS strapped in seat and away we go. You have to take it apart at security, but I think you have to do that with the go go kidz if it won't fit/or they ask you to take it apart. I also take it apart at the door of the plane and walk on carrying the seat and making DS walk. We wheeled him to our seat once, but in the close quarters of the aisle, it was more difficult to get DS out, and some plane aisles are too narrow to wheel all the way to your seat. It's just easy for me to take it apart at the door and walk on. I know you can keep the gogo Kidz attached to the seat when it's on the plane, but if the aisle is too narrow to wheel it to your seat, it's a heavy/awkward combination to carry over the top of the seats if the car seat is heavy. We use the Uptown and it's super light, so I can easily carry it, luggage cart folded up and resting in the seat, diaper back pack and shoo DS in front of me.

I tried to get a cart that was a super duty strong cart, like this one, and it didn't work as the top tether couldn't latch on, and the platform of the cart didn't open out enough for our seat to sit securely on it.

I then got one like this, it's black wire. It didn't look as sturdy as the first, but when assembled with the car seat, it worked much better. It still has an 80lb weight limit. Our seat is 12 lbs, DS is about 35lbs, so it's fine. As he get's heavier, he'll also be older so more likely to walk.

DS sits in the seat and I pull him, or he walks. Our rule is that he has to be in the seat for going through security, so we can skip the line. Once through security, we let him walk to burn off some energy.
